I had a wonderful New Years Eve and figured that a little fishing was a perfect way to spend a New Years Day. After spending the morning with the family I launched at the Main St launch at about 12:30 and started fishing my spot right by the launch. I was dragging a 1/16th oz jig slowly through the water thinking about how I was going to best catch fish today when suddenly I feel a little tap. My problem was solved and a jigging I go! I fished that old tree for about 15 minuets and only picked up two fish. The next stop on the map was the trace bridge. I spent about 45 minuets on the east side of that bridge throwing that jig and only managed five fish. It was looking a little bleak at the time but I kept at it. I started to move around the area a little to see if maybe I could pick up a few. I trolled around to the west side and as I pulled up to the main structure I was thinking to myself "If I was a fish I would be there." As it turned out there was a fish there! In fact there was a Momma, Pappa, Grand Mamma, Cousin, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Nephew, and more! I sat in that one spot and picked up 30 more fish before the rain got to close.
Total fish for the day:
37 Sac-au-lait
All my fish where caught on jigs, anything chartreuse. (There was another boat there pulling them in on minnows) - farleylbn 1/1/13
