Thursday 11-1 We launched out of the Rigolets at 6:30 and crossed over Lake Borne to Bayou Biloxi. The wind was down and it was a smooth ride. We went up Bayou Biloxi about 5 miles to a duck pond we had caught redfish in before. The water looked to be about 2 ft. lower than normal. As we entered the pond we could see the redfish in the back of the pond tearing up every thing along the shoreline. The water was so low we could not get to the back of the pond. We tried casting in the middle of the pond with no luck. (The boat is a 24 ft. bay boat) As we got to the point of the pond at Bayou Biloxi we could see water moving around it. All three of us casted to the point and as the corks hit the water they never floated, just sank! and it was on! 30 minutes later, 15 red fish in the boat 16-27 in. We also caught 3-4 specks! We fished for another 20 min. catch and release. We probably could have caught 100 more. Moved on down Bayou Bolivia, fished all the turns in the Bayou and caught 26 specks. The specks were scattered. We were using live shrimp and all colors of Matrix Shads. Headed back across the lake (rough ride ) to the launch for 1:00 PM. -FLATTSCLASS171
