ok, here is the scoop i decided to test out my new gear on the amite river closer to the house...arrived to find the water high and muddy. i had cloudy skies with a light drizzle air temp was around 60 degrees water temp was 58/60 degrees and moving pretty good. i started near the launch in a back water where the water was slack and looked stable i scored 3 decent bass early and missed 3 or 4 more on a chartreuse war eagle 3/8 oz spinnerbait (slow rolled). bite slowed some and decided to run and gun a few of my key spots to see if i could find clear water( no go on the clear water ) every where i looked the water was like coffee. in between running around i managed to pick up a few on some of my new baits. on the way back to the launch i decided to try my first spot to see if they replenished ....on my first 6 cast i landed 5 chunky bass and missed 1 so i stayed and picked the area apart with spinnerbaits and flipping creature baits to cypress i ended the day with about 15 or so bass and a bunch of missed opportunities. if i would have stayed in my first spot rather than run and gun i would have definitely did better. like the old saying '' never leave fish to go find fish'' lol anyways hope this helps
