First and foremost I was invited to Lake Ramsey today, a private lake community. I got there around 3:30 and my kids were using shiners, my oldest son caught a small bass, and a couple perch. I put on a ZOOM watermelon red 6" lizard and threw under a dock where I was told a Christmas tree was sunk. First cast, Bam about a solid 2lb Female bass so I released her. A bunch more cast and that was it so we packed up and went to a new spot (sorry I can not tell ya"ll where) I kept casting in this one spot because I kept getting "hit" when it would cross. I figured it was a bass on a bed, you know how they really don't eat they just move it off the beds, I couldn't set the hook. I moved to a different spot and pulled a nice 3ish pounder out, boy that felt good. As the day wore on I switched over to Sac a Lait fishing. After about 20 minutes of nothing this old man pulled up and said "They here yet?" I asked about what kind and he said "Sac a lait." I told him we haven't caught any and he said "hold on I will tell you if they are here or not." His first cast, sac a lait,... 2nd, a sac a lait,... 3rd, a sac a lait. I was like hold on, I cast by him and wouldn't you know it, "they showed up." They were all hand size nothing big, so we moved down a little ways and that's where the"Slabs" were. We had to leave cause it is a school night and the fish didn't start biting until 6:15, so another words we left 'em biting, but not for long, I will be back.
