Do you want to confuse a group of anglers? Try holding a bass tournament the morning that time changes. My phone rang early and often with anxious fishermen that were sure they wouldn't make it to the launch by daylight. When I explained that "spring forward" actually meant that it gets daylight later, relief could be heard. When daylight did finally break there were 24 boats in the Liars and Lunkers field on the East Pearl River. The one less hour of sleep, low tide and falling river turned out to be the winning ticket for Charles Dauzat and Mark Mohr. These two river experts combined their talents and brought 16.50 pounds to the scales. They also had big bass honors with a 5.68 pound lunker. Second place went to Rustin Boudette and his wife, Toni who had 13.19 pounds. I'm not sure who caught the fish, but Rustin was smart enough to let his wife collect the cash filled envelope. Third place was Phil Schutte and Morgan Schutte with 12.18 pounds. The fourth place team was Aaron Moran and Kevin Harrison with 10.62 pounds.
The next Liars and Lunkers tournament will be April 5th on the Lock One Canal. If you can't wait until then, the Thursday evening tournaments start March 13th at 5PM on the Lock One Canal.
