A July north wind greeted the anglers for the Florida Parish Bass Anglers as they arrived at the Main Street boat launch. No complaints could be heard from group due to the lower humidity although it would soon give way and Mother Nature would remind all that it was in fact still July. The North wind did however lower the water levels by pushing it out of the bayou leaving all the anglers to fish an incoming tide most of the day but that didn’t seem to matter. Good numbers of bass were reported to be caught however finding the right size was the key that separated the top teams. The final results are as followed for the day:
1st Patrick Engerran & Doug Canoy 9.18lbs
2nd Jason & Trenton Pittman 7.18lbs
3rd Chad Babin & Tyler Sterling 6.73lbs
The Mister Twister Big Bass of the tournament went to Jason & Trenton Pittman with a fish weighing in at 2.60lbs and that fish earned him the Big Bass prize money as well as the tackle package provided by Mister Twister.
The Regis Radiator Angler of the Year race is starting to take shape but it is still anyone’s to win and will heat up as the season progresses. After seven tournaments and the two drop tournaments figured in the standings are as followed:
1st Jason & Trenton Pittman 494 points
2nd Chad Babin & Tyler Sterling 476 points
3rd Darrick Neale & Thomas McCrystal 460 points
