I would like to thank all that participated in the River Champs Tournament last Saturday out of the Bayou Liberty Marina. The conditions were less than favorable. The water level had come up around 3 feet the day before the tournament and fill as much or more Friday night. This coupled with all the rain the days before made the water clarity not so good for this area. We also were faced with high pressure as a front had just come through.
Jason Pittman and his dad Floyd were able to get a big fish to bite. Jason caught a 6.54lb giant on Saturday. This is a good one for any area but especially in this system. Congrats to Jason and his dad for catching the winning stringer at 11.01LBS. In second place was Paul Paille and Dwayne Dykes with 6.31lbs and third was Patrick Engerran with 5.42LBS. Congrats to the winners and I look forward to the next one. Stay tuned for our next tournament. It will be posted under tournaments on this site.
