The Dockside Marine Tournament Trail, sponsored by Skeeter/Yamaha, hosted their first event of the season on 2/3/18 and the results are in. As seemingly always on tournament day ol mother nature had everyone scrambling with two days of cold, windy and rainy conditions leading up to the event. Then on tournament morning the 36 participating teams were greeted with a stiff 15-20 mph Northeast wind and a high percentage of rain forecasted for the afternoon. With these kind of conditions one would think the weights brought in to the 3 pm weigh-in would reflect tough fishing but in all actuality quite the opposite occurred.
The anglers in this trail, as they always do, absolutely performed with the top 16 teams bringing in over ten pounds! It was one of the veteran teams and also sponsors of the trail Fred King and Roy Laborde with Delta Lure Company who took home the 2000$ first prize! They brought to the scales an impressive 17.22 lbs 5 fish stringer to best the field. In second was Joel Lee and Shane Pope with 5 fish that tipped the scales to 16.95 lbs. Rounding out the top three was the team of Barry Fallon and Will Moore with their 5 fish limit of 16.37 lbs. The biggest bass of the event went to the Father/Son team of Rustin and Caleb Beaudette with a 5.58 lb. big fish.
This was another great event put on by Mr. Jay Ladner and the next event is on Saturday March 3rd out of the E. Pearl Pearlington Hwy. 90 Launch. Please spread the word for more anglers to come and join the largest trail on the North shore!
Power rankings points awarded as follows: Fred King and Roy Laborde 36 pts. Each. Joel Lee and Shane Pope 18 pts. Each. Barry Fallon and Will Moore 9 pts. Each. Congratulations to all finishers in the top three of this event!
