The Florida Parish Bass Anglers fished their March tournament recently on the Tchefuncte River and were greeted by a vast array of conditions that included a falling river followed by an extremely swift incoming tide around noon. Also the 13 boats that did brave the conditions had a pleasant day until midmorning when a squall line of storms brought lightening as well as hail to the area. Luckily the Tchefuncte has numerous docks and marinas that the anglers were able to seek out and shelter in place during the hour or so storm so thanks to the homeowners who allowed them to get out of the elements.
The day was a true test for the teams as the water was pulled out nearly two feet with the storm and then rushed back in several hours later creating an instance that we don’t get to see very often in that short of time. No matter the conditions these anglers will always find a way to catch some good stringers of bass to bring to the scales. The top finishing teams for the event are as follows:
1st Richard Bennett 13.79lbs
2nd Kyle Hill – Dylan Hill 11.48lbs
3rd Trenton Pittman 11.12lbs
1st Richard Bennett 13.79lbs

The Mister Twister Big Bass Award package of tackle as well as the Big Bass money went to Kyle and Dylan for a fish weighing 4.97lbs and all of the fish were released alive back into the river.
