The first Northshore Bass Series Championship is in the books and what a good time it was. If you missed the weigh in, the venue of The Blind Tiger could not have been any nicer or more accommodating for this type of event. Jay Ladner performed, as he always does, a first class weigh-in with all of his equipment and sound system. We still had a total of 20 boats come to compete even after having to re-schedule due to a Hurricane two weeks prior. The overall winners of the event were Ross and Reese Watkins who weighed in an impressive 18.03lb sack of fish. In second was Kerry and Mike Bock with 15.36lbs and rounding out the top three was Fred King and Roy Laborde with a solid 14.84lb stringer.
After the event I was pleasantly surprised with how much positive feedback I received from quite a broad crowd of people. It was also nice to see the camaraderie between each and every competitor who showed up for the weigh in all laughing, joking, and enjoying a few beverages after it was all over.
Looking back just the couple of days it been, I am extremely grateful to the ones who helped me to accomplish what was my main goal all along. We got a bunch of local fisherman from different tournament trails together on one day, left all the bs behind, and enjoyed the hell out of ourselves. A huge thanks goes out to each and every angler who participated.
