The first Liar's and Lunker's bass tournament of the year is in the books. Twenty six teams showed up at the East Pearl River boat launch on February 19th to try their luck. What they found was low tide and fog. As the fog lifted and the water started moving the bass catches picked up. Many of the teams reported catching larges numbers of bass throughout the day. The father and son team of Rustin and Christian Beaudette took first place overall and big bass honors for the day. Team Beaudette had a total of 13.93 pounds, which included a 6.85 pound lunker. Terry Jones and Jason Stevens finished a close second with 13.28 pounds. Third place was weighed in by Corey Wheat and totaled 12.85 pounds. The top five teams all received cash prizes.
