The Florida Parishes Bass Anglers held their October tournament on Sunday, 10/19. Launch site was the Green Bridge at Pearlington, the field of 22 anglers were greeted by cooler temperatures and brisk North winds as everyone signed in and began launching boats. Another cold front had pushed through Saturday night dropping the temperature several degrees, making for a chilly early morning boat ride to favored areas. Once the sun came up, temperatures began to rise and it turned into a beautiful day. The fish seemed to be biting well in some areas despite the post frontal conditions, a sign that they have begun feeding up in preparation for winter. With crawfish being mostly gone, the river bass were concentrating on shad and minnows, while the marsh bass could be seen chasing shrimp that are making their way out to the larger lakes and passes. Weigh in was 3pm, results below.
Our next event will be Nov 9th at Manchac, safelight to 3pm. Launch & weigh in at the public launch below the I-55 bridge. For info on membership, contact Kevin Williams (985) 502-6146, emailmkalw1990@gmail.com or Patrick Engerran (985) 474-6112, email pengerran@yahoo.com
