Mr. Floyd and I made a scouting trip to Bayou Bonfouca so I could eliminate water for the up coming bass assassins tournament. We launched at Heritage Park in Slidell and we were greeted with 40 degree morning temps and about a 2 foot low tide. the water temp was 60 degrees and we had a slight breeze from the ESE. I knew right off hand after looking at the conditions that the bass were going to be lethargic, off the banks and bunched up in deeper water near the steepest drop. I decided to run a round looking for good concentrations of fish. on our second stop of the morning we started catching bass pretty frequently on cranks down deep. after a few we decided to run to another stop to see if we could find the similar pattern. we fish that same pattern for most of the day finding schools of bass bunched up in deeper water. i was able to get Mr Floyd on a good crankbait bite and for the first time he was able to limit out on bass. well that was short lived because he got the hang of that crankbait quick and went on to catch 6 more solid fish before the day was up. (for a second at the end of the day I sat back and watched Mr Floyd catch bass at will out in deep water. keep in mind that catching bass in 40 degree weather isn't an easy task especially after only been fishing bass for about a year or so....kudos Mr Floyd!!!!!) well we ended the day at 2pm with 42 solid bass caught and released I guess our best 5 went close to 10 lbs. and we probably missed just as many as we caught. the most important thing of that day was I found 3 or 4 really nice schools of good
