Let me preface this report by saying we don't only fish on Thursdays. Having said that, it was another windy Thursday out there. Also, according to a "fishing forecast" that my dad frequents, today was a bad day to fish. Nevertheless, we got onto the water right around 10 to sunny skies. I believe the water temp was 62 degrees, but the air temp seemed very chilly. We got to our first spot and didn't get a bite. We moved to our second spot and the same. Things were looking bleak. We worked our way down toward the lake, we launched at Heritage Park, and I was starting to wonder if the "forecast" could have been right( I never put any faith in them, I usually fish when I want!). Persistently, we pressed on to spot number three. Bam, we found a bite and picked up four or five bass. We kept fishing our usual spots, and mixed in some perching along the way. Needless to say, but I will anyway, the wind was really brutal and kept me on the trolling motor most of the time. We fished until about 6 and ended up keeping two limits of bass, one Bluegill, and three goggle-eye, and released another ten bass to catch some other day. My dad had small crawfish with us for perching, and I used Sexee Shad and crickets. All bass were caught on plastics. For such a bad day "forecasted", I think we did just fine. We very rarely clean the fish the same day we catch them, so pics will be tomorrow or Saturday. -Dansacct 3/21/13
