What is Northshore Bass King?

Northshore Bass King is a unique tournament format that places 2 anglers in a head to head battle on a designated body of water. This battle will result in one winner that will retain the title of “Bass King” and bragging rights for the entire season.  The tournament participants will be voted in by NFR members at NorthshoreFishingReport.com. To add to the pressure of head to head fishing, tournament anglers will be paired up with “Marshals” who will be filming and documenting every fish catch. Every hour an updated weight will be sent via text to the opposing angler. This will add a sense of urgency to the angler who is lacking in weight at that specific time. This format will be an exciting, white knuckle, winner take all tournament.

Bass King Rules:

1.       All state and federal fishing and boating regulations will be follow at all times.

2.       Life jackets must be worn by both the angler and Marshal while the main combustion engine is running.

3.       Each tournament will be limited to a specific body of water chosen by the “Head Marshal” (boundaries are limited from the lake to the northern most part of the designated water way and adjacent inlets)

4.       Fishing methods are limited to artificial lures only.

5.       Species for the tournament are largemouth and spotted bass.

6.       Both anglers will be randomly paired with a “Marshal” during tournament hours.

7.       Marshals will send updated weights via text every hour to the opposing angler’s boat.

8.       This is strictly a catch and release tournament. All bass are to be handled with care.

9.       Anglers will have an 11 inch minimum for eligible fish. (Since this a catch and release tournament there is no limit to the amount of bass that an angler can weigh.)

10.    Each eligible bass will be weighed and immediately released. The weights will be confirmed by a digital scale and documented by the designated “Marshal”.

11.   Tournament hours are from safe light until 12pm.

12.   The angler with the most accumulative weight at the end of the tournament day will be crowned Bass King!!!

13.   The winner will hold the title until the following years contest when member vote on a challenger to try and take the title away.
