With all the extreme temps. and serious lack of rain the West Pearl has been dropping down to record low levels. The week leading up to the last Bass Assassins tournament we were graced by some much needed rain. This managed to bring the Pearl up from 5.5 feet at Pearl River gauge to around 6.5 feet. However by Sunday it was back down to just under 6 feet. Going into it everyone was predicting that it was going to be a fun day due to all the water coming out of the woods and all the fish should be grouped up in the main river. For most of the 14 anglers who showed up to do battle it was a good day on the river. Troy Ladner ended up first with a nice limit that totaled 9.70 lbs.
Following close behind in second we find Steve Hadley with a 9.50 lbs. limit. In third we had a tie at 8.02 lbs. between Chad Babin and Josh Enman. Josh ended up taking home the prize because his big fish was 3.83 lbs. and Chad's was 2.37. Josh's big fish was not only big enough to break the tie, it was big enough to award him the big fish of the day.
