Bass Assassins AOY Update

Aoy front runner Jimmy Dorris reminds all of us why he has been at the top of the AOY leaderboard for most of the year. He edged out the rest of the field with another stellar performance for the Battle on the Bayou on Bayou Liberty. Jimmy took home first place honors and nearly sealed the deal for our first ever Bass Assassins Angler of the Year title. With only 3 events left for the season he will be hard to overtake. Joe Picone is still in the hunt for this year’s AOY crown. He added another 20 moints to his already great year and is not giving up on the AOY title. He sits in 2nd place currently and has 3 events left for the season to catch AOY front runner Jimmy Dorris. This is a hard task for anyone but very doable for this Northshore bass fishing veteran. Zack Zimmerman or (Z2 “ZSQUARE”) as I like to call him has been the definition of hard work, dedication, persistence, and perseverance for the 2014 Bass Assassins Season. He recently jumped up from 5th place to 3rd place overall in the AOY standings. This is a true underdog story if I have ever seen one on the local tournament trail. He has been outgunned, out horse powered, and out manned as this 15 year old has battled some of the top bass fishing sticks that the Northshore has to offer. His hard work and dedication has shown all year as he currently sits in 3rd place in the AOY standings.
This season is winding down with only 3 events left to go. At this point we have 2 areas we are watching for during the rest of this season, the top 5 places in the AOY standings, and the estimated 20 th spot on the AOY leaderboard for the Bass Assissins Classic qualifying cut line. Look for the top 5 places to battle it out during the next 3 events for the AOY crown, and the guys sitting around the 20th place mark to battle it out to earn a Bass Assassins Classic berth. This season is going down to the wire and every catch or miss is going to have a huge effect on the anglers doing battle on the water.
