For the last Bass Assassins tournament we fished the West Pearl. As the 21 anglers showed up to Crawfords Landing they were greeted by a leveled out river at 8 foot on the Pearl River gauge. The water in the marsh of the lower end was high. The morning was quite mild with hot temperatures to come as the sun came up. The morning was full of big fish tales and talks about how to safely navigate the river south of Hwy. 90. As the light started to pear over the trees I started to call out the boats. One by one everyone raced to their spots both up and down the river. Shortly before noon Crawfords landing started to get busy as all the anglers started pulling up for the weigh in. Looking at the bags brought in it was obvious the stable river produced some great fishing. In first we have Dalton Thompson with a 14.06 lbs. limit. In second we have the winner from the last Assassins tournament Ron Garic with a limit totaling 10.62 lbs. Third went to Troy Ladner for his 9.98 lbs. limit. Bill Dorris earned fourth place with 9.92 lbs. Ron Garic took home the big fish award with his 4.34 lbs. kicker.
