Morgan Schutte On July 28th, 2024 the Liars and Lunkers held their Classic for the Spring/Summer series at Crawford's Landing on The West Pearl River. Conditions had been stable until the week of the tournament as usual. An influx of water from the north had the river rising quickly and almost peaking in the 11 foot range. Many teams qualified for the classic by fishing 3 of 5 events throughout the season, however only 7 chose to brave the heat and rising water. At the noon weigh in anglers were met with pizza and cold drinks for their appreciation of continued support throughout the season, as well as awaited their plaques for the top 3 in AOY points. The classic is a free entry event when you qualify, however we have an optional $50 sidepot teams can opt into for some extra earnings. Only teams who pay the optional $50 sidepot are eligible for those extra winnings. It was a tight race with the weights being pretty close. Taking home 1st place honors was the father and son team of Phil and Morgan Schutte with a 5 fish limit weighing 9lb.12oz.

Second place was Nick Richard with 8lbs. 2oz. and big bass 2lbs. 10oz. Third place went to Tyler Allgood and Steele Sessions with 7lbs. 15oz.

We had 186 kids participate this year and we are headed into our 25th year in 2025!!!!
