A nice cool spring morning greeted the anglers for the first Bass Assassins tournament of 2023 this past Sunday.  As the anglers showed up the parking lot became full and folks were parking along each side of Main street.  After the dust settled 31 anglers signed up to do battle on the Bayou.  As I called out the boat numbers each angler cruised off one by one to their first spots with hopes of catching lots of good fish.  Unfortunately at the weigh in it was clear the fishing did not match the beautiful weather or meet the expectations of the anglers.  Less than half the field had fish to weigh in.  Leading those anglers was Jared Norris who brought in a 9.14 lbs. limit to claim first place.  Jared also had the big bass of the day which was a 4.87 lbs. beauty.  In second we find Jean Junius with a 5.31 lbs. limit.  Josh Enman took home third place with a limit totaling 4.37 lbs.   Fourth place went to John Cahill for his four fish that totaled 4.13 lbs.  Rounding up the top 5 we have Hunter Burkell with four fish totaling 4.01 lbs.
