Signs of warmer weather must have anglers ready to hit the water as the Liars and Lunkers Spring/Summer series started strong with 22 teams showing up at the East Pearl on February 25th, 2024 for the first event of the season. Anglers were greeted with a brisk morning in the low 40s, making that early boat ride a chilly one, but it warmed up quickly turning into a beautiful day. Of the 22 teams, many struggled with the adversities that the Pearl River system delivered on tournament day with that being high muddy river water, mixed with extremely low tides in the marsh. However, some extremely impressive weights were brought back to the scales at the noon weigh-in. Taking home 1st place honors with a whopping 18.97 pounds was Skip Rayborn and Wade Strahan. They also took big bass honors with a 5.24 stud!

2nd place was Rustin Beaudette and Trevor Truax with another big stringer of 14.91 pounds. 3rd place was Steele Sessions and Tyler Allgood with a strong finish at 12.46 pounds. Rounding out the last pay spot in 4th place went to the always competitive team of Mark Mohr and Charles Dauzat with a solid bag of 11.18 pounds.
Thanks to all those who showed up and supported the tournament and came to hang out at the weigh in afterwards. Our next tournament is at the East Pearl HWY 90 launch on March 24th, 2024 from safelight to 12:00. $50 entry per team.
