Twenty six anglers showed up at the Hwy. 90 launch for the last Bass Assassins tournament on East Pearl.  Leading into this tournament we had a lot of rain the day before with very strong south winds.  When we got to the launch in the morning the water was low but there was a line of thrash at the top of the ramp meaning the water was extremely high the day before.  Still with the tough conditions hopes were high with a full moon and warmer weather.  The weigh in results show that those hopes came true.  Eric Cico took home the win with a 10.46 lbs. limit and a 2.88 lbs. kicker to also with big fish.

Chris Stewart ended up second with a limit that totaled 8.51 lbs.  In third we find Jimmy Dorris with a 6.70 limit narrowly beating out his dad, Bill Dorris, who ended up fourth with his limit that tipped the scales at 5.99 lbs.

The Double Nickel Bass Club fished the East Pearl River on a chilly morning. The water was exceptionally low, and the wind had most anglers ditching their original plans and making adjustments. The muddy water that plagued anglers last week remained a problem for anglers today.  In the end, it was Ron Hindman who claimed first place with a tournament limit of 3 fish weighing 6.75 pounds. Hindman also won the big bass pot with a largemouth that came in at 4.07 pounds. In second place was Guy Stegall, who weighed in a limit of 6.03 pounds. Mike Mardois took third place with 5.70 pounds and also won second place with big bass with a 3.31-pound fish.

The Double Nickel Bass Club kicked off their points season with a tournament at the East Pearl River. It was cool, and the winds started picking up as the morning went on. We had 24 boats that showed up to start off the morning with a little bragging and picking on each other. The water is still muddy just about where everyone went. The tide was fairly low going out.  Some had no problem finding fish; others, oh well. Some are full of eggs and others have already spawned out. In first place was Ralph Dunn who weighed in a 5-fish bag of 7.21 pounds. Dunn also took the big bass pot with a bass that weighed 4.29 pounds. Bob Perry came in second place with a limit weighing 6.57 pounds Perry won second place big bass as well with fish that weighed 3.71 pounds. Barry Lee came in third place 3rd with 6.26 pounds.
