I took my father-in-law with me today over to the CSX train bridge since it looked like the weather was going to cooperate. We pulled up to the bridge at 7:30 a.m. and saw a handful of boats tied to the bridge or anchored nearby. The tide was still coming in but wasn't too difficult to get to the bottom. The seas and wind were calm and sitting in the shade underneath the bridge was a bonus. No one seemed to be doing much until my father-in-law got down to business. He pulled in his limit of nice drum in the 20 inch range. One of the fish he hooked wasn't very big he told me. But when this big boy saw our boat he came to life and made the drag scream for quite awhile. Don't remember how long the fight was but we got him in - just under 22 pounds and 35 inches long. It was the biggest fish my father-in-law ever caught and it was great hearing him laugh like a little kid over his big fish. I caught two keeper specs and had fun with a few lady fish that took my bait. One other boat next to us pulled in two beautiful bull reds. By the time we left the tide had slowed down considerably and so did the fish. You can always catch more fish but we were happy with the catch, good weather and good times we had today. Will go back out there next week. -Catahoula 8/26/13
