The river was a little high as 19 anglers fished the Double Nickel tournament at the East Pearl.  It was a cool morning with overcast skies. The tide was falling all morning as some boats decided to fish south and some north. In the end, there were a lot of small fish brought in affecting the bag weights. Ralph Dunn took first place with a 3-fish tournament limit weighing 5.08 pounds. In second place was Rob Roberts with a limit that weighed 5.04 pounds. C J Mayeux came in third place with 3 fish weighing 4.70 pounds. Mayeux also won the big fish pot with a bass weighing  2.90 pounds.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends on the Tchefuncte River, and that's where the draw brought us for the last Bass Assassins tournament. The weather leading up to this tournament, and for the day was rainy and mild.  Luckily this kept the crowds down for the 21 anglers that showed up.  These anglers were greeted with a high tide that falling in the morning.  The fishing was tough but the fish caught were good fish. It took over 9 lbs. to get in the top 3. Taking home the win was Barrett Saunders with a 9.62 lbs. limit.
