The Double Nickel Bass Club fished the Tchefuncte River Tesuday. The shad spawn was on in the river as there were plenty feeding oppurtunities for hungry bass. In the end it was Tommy Rogers who figured them out with a 3-fish tournament limit weighing 5.510 pounds. Rogers also caught the bog fish and claimed the big fish pot with a 2.92-pound bass. Bobby Newberry placed second with a limit of 4.440 pounds. Our group has grown from 3 people to 9 and we are expecting a few more to join this month. 

18 boats showed up to fish the Double Nickel tournament at the East Pearl River. The river was low with an incoming tide and the water was very murky It was an early morning bite for some with a lot of small fish being caught. Those that fished in the right spots caught fish. At weigh-in James Harris took first place with a 3-fish tournament limit that weighed 6.05 pounds. Harris also won the big bass pot with a 3.05-pound bass weighing 3.05 lbs.  Ralph Dunn came in second place with 4.81 pounds. Norman Johnson came in third place with 4.72 pounds.

​For the Bass Assassins we had 15 anglers show up to do battle on Bayou Lacombe.  The day before we had a lot of rain along with a good bit throughout the previous week.  This day's forecast was no different calling for off and on rain. The water was high and falling in the first part of the morning.  It was looking tough for Bayou Lacombe which is why some anglers made the run to Bayou Bonfouca.  However those anglers would be disappointed in their decision come weigh in time.  Between all three anglers who made the run the total weight of fish did not surpass the total weight to claim first.  Daniel Charbonnet brought in 9.44 lbs. to take home first place.
