There were 27 boats that showed up to fish the Double Nickel tournament at the East Pearl River. At blast-off some anglers went north and some went south. After all was said and done it was David Priddy who took first place with a 3-fish bag that weighed 9.16 pounds. Priddy also won the big bass pot with a bass that weighed 5.32 pounds. Bill Dorris took second with a limit weighing 5.87 pounds. Dorris brought in the second biggest bass of the day: a 3.50-pound fish. In third was Tommy Watkins with 5.44 pounds. 

​Today the 21 Bass Assassins gathered at the Fourth Street Launch to do battle on the Tchefuncte River.  The morning was a little brisk but it quickly got up into the 80's.  It turned out to be a beautiful day on the water.  Of course you know what that means on the Tchefuncte.  By ten o-clock the river was full of jet skies and pleasure boats, however some folks were able to fish through all the traffic and bring in some good bags.  Landin Williams took home first place and big fish with his impressive 9.54 lbs. limit and 4.40 kicker. 

​The Liars and Lunker's held their second tournament of the 2023 Spring / Summer Series on March 26th at the East Pearl River. A dozen teams participated and took their chances with unfavorable weather forecasted that day. As it turns out, despite a pretty stiff wind, the rain held off for the most part. 


When it came time to weigh the bass, it was clear that most people caught them pretty good. It was Rustin and Cristian Beaudette taking the win with 13.67 pounds. 

The next Liars and Lunker's tournament will be on April 30th at the East Pearl River. If you plan to attend, don't forget Hwy 90 is still closed at the West Pearl River. You'll have to drive around and get to the launch from the Pearlington side.

The Thursday evening tournaments are in full swing also. Every Thursday throughout the spring and summer at Lock One in Pearl River. It's only $21 per boat and blast off is at 5PM.
