I had originally planned to go to my 35 acre pond and sink my christmas trees for some future Sac-a-alit fishing but the water looked to damn inviting not to wet a line. Slightly overcast most of the morning, perfect. A put on my favorite lure, a Bass Assassin, or Kevin Van Damn baby bass super fluke, which I used today. First cast...bam, but I shot my wad too early and missed. I trolled to my favorite part of the lake and bam ,bam back to back catches, both small. A few cast later a nice "head shaker" about 2 lbs. I trolled to a spot where some pads were starting to pop up out the water, I cast on top of one, worked it across the top of the lilly's, when it got to the edge I let it sink and bam two more. A landed a total of six fish, but the sun came out and I had phone troubles soIi put the boat back by the shed and called it a day. Just can't wait till the spawn, I could see the bass on the bottom about 6'-8' deep. The water is still quite chilly though, I would give it about another 3 weeks to a month.
