Ronald Pierre This is how things are shaping up after the first four events of the season. We have a back and fourth battle brewing up in the AOY Race. The top 3 positions are being shuffled around in each tournament between Jimmy Dorris, Chris Basey, and Beaux Lasiter. Jimmy has a 40 point lead on Chris with Crawford's Landing on the horizon. Jimmy is always a threat on the river and is looking to make another good showing for event number 5. These guys know what it takes to battle for AOY glory with each having high finishes in other local points races in the past. Each angler will try to keep a firm grip on the covenant AOY crown and will be looking to battle it out on the river on April 6th. As it stands now (if we were to end the season today) the top 13 anglers in the AOY points race will be qualified for the classic. Beaux Lasiter, Ronald Pierre, and Kyle Hill are double qualified having won events this season and that opens up 3 additional spots for Classic contention. 14TH place Jason Pittman is also already qualified for the Classic by winning event 2 on Bayou Liberty. Anglers in 15th place on down would be just outside the cut line and would be looking to qualify for the Classic through the RP3 Wildcard event in December. The only anglers that can breathe a sigh of Classic relief at this point are the first 4 event winners of the season. Things should really begin to take shape as we approach the midway point of the season for event numer 9. We still have plenty of events left this season for things to shake up for both the AOY and the Bass Assassins Classic. Only 4 events into the season and we already have ourselves a slug fest brewing in the AOY Points Race.
