The 2014 tournament season on the Northshore has come to an end and what a season it has been! I'd like to thank all of the tournament directors for participating with the new NBS page. I hope that it serves your needs of advertising your tournaments and continues to put these fantastic local bass fisherman on the map. I never thought it would grow so big in such little time but the it just shows how popular tournament fishing is here in the Northshore Parishes. In one short year I have watched the NBS Page grow into what is now considered the "Hub of Tournament fishing on the Northshore." Since creating this page in the spring it has garnered over 20,000 views from people interested in the local bass fishing scene. I have received emails, phone, calls, and texts from about point systems, tournament dates, blast off times, spotlight nominees, sponsorship opportunities, and even one from a guy in Florida interested in coming over and fishing a few events.
While the page is still a work in progress I am setting the bar high in 2015. The guys who fish these tournaments put a ton of time, effort, and money into competing in these events and I'd like to try and help them out in the upcoming year. I am calling on our local small businesses to step up to the plate and sponsor these anglers. My goal is to get 10 guys sponsored by the end of 2015. It's going to take a coordinated effort to do this and some cooperation between the tournament fisherman and the sponsors but I feel we can make this happen. Take a look at the NBS page for this past year. How many times do you see these guys in pictures and in the rankings wearing Nike, Under Armour, or perhaps nothing on their shirts. These are wasted promotion opportunities that can be cashed in on by your small business or company. From what I see, this can be a win-win situation here. All that's needed is a simple bass fishing jersey with your company name or logo on it to get started. There are tons of online bass jersey sites that make it simple to create these shirts. Or it can be a simple as providing them with a company t-shirt. From there you can work with your tournament angler whether it be funding more tournaments or supplying lures. Whatever will help him win more and rise in the rankings. In return that angler will promote you business or company on the NBS page. In addition, all tournament anglers that are listed in the Top Ten Power Rankings will boast their sponsors name underneath their names, meaning your company will contain a clickable link from the NBS Page, straight to your website! But the promotion doesn't stop there! Northshore Fishing Report is also represented in the Slidell Independent and Tammany West Publications which boasts a 15,000 readership circulation in St. Tammany Parish. These publications will now incorporate the NBS standings into it's "Northshore Fishing Report" column which means more eyes on your brand!
If you have own a small business or company on the Northshore please consider joining the NBS and sponsoring one of these guys. I have already secured commitments from guys who want to sponsor themselves being that they own their own business and fish these tournaments. Sponsoring yourself is 100% acceptable and encouraged! If you have any questions about supporting the NBS by sponsoring an tournament angler please let me know. I can can be reached directly at 985-373-5974 or email keith@northshorefishingreport.com.
Also I would love to hear some recommendations and ideas that would make the page better. Thank you to Chris Basey, Ronald Pierre, Scott Andrews, Chad Hartzog, Charles Dauzat, Jennifer Dauzat, Kevin Williams, Todd Stein, Patrick Engerran, Lee Hillman, and Cody Law. If there is anyone I left out thanks for cooperating with me as far as announcing your tournaments and getting me the results and pictures on time. I hope that your tournaments will continue to gain popularity in 2015!
