2015 Bass Assassin season has started. Today 25 anglers showed up at the Main Street launch to compete in the 2015 opener on Bayou Lacombe. Everyone was excited about getting on the water to compete for a spot in the classic in 2016. A thick fog blanketed the area all morning. The bayou was full of boats waiting to be called out. After setting up the scale there was soon a line of anglers with bags of fish. It was obvious that the fishing has been heating up. There was 57 bass brought to the scale to weigh in for a total of just under 80 lbs. of bass. Jason Pittman was the first of the year to punch his ticket to the 2016 classic by winning today. Jason brought in a limit weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. to clain first. Following right behind him with two beautiful bass was Travis Young. Travis's two fish went 8 lbs. 1 oz. His biggest one was 4 lbs. 10 oz. which was good enough for big fish. Richard Bennett brought home third with a 7 lbs. 7 oz. limit. A 5 lbs. 8 oz. Limit was brought in by Kevin Williams to take the fourth place spot.
