The Double Nickel Bass Club fished the East Pearl River. The morning temperatures were cool, and the humidity was low, which made it quite enjoyable for the 22 boats that showed up to fish. The West Pearl and other rivers in the area were high and muddy. The water was falling for most of the morning, but started to rise. In the end, it was Bob Perry who brought in a 3-fish limit of 6.92 pounds. Perry also took second place in the big bass division with a bass that weighed 3.25 pounds. Rob Watson came in second place with a 3-fish bag that weighed 5.14 pounds. Watson also won the big bass pot with a 3.77-pound bass. In third place was Bill Dorris with a limit that weighed 4.87.
The Double Nickel Bass Club will hold its next tournament at the East Pearl River on April 22. The club is for those who are above the age of 55. For more information, please call Dwain Crumby at 985-502-6006.
