Joe Picone Hi, Im Joe Picone and I'd like to talk to you about the Double Nickel Bass Club. The club caters to anglers who are over 55 years of age. We have angers that fish in the club that range from 55 to 80 years of age. And yes..they still have some juice left!
The tournament lasts 5 hours which adds to the challenge. There is a 3 fish limit with a 12-inch minimum. This has proved a whole lot better for the fish and of course better for our anglers. Since inception the club has grown from the original 5 anglers to a total of 50 anglers with the average event turning out 20-30 fishermen.
We fish every Tuesday. We are a singles tournament but have exections for youth under 16 and wives who want to fish as well.
Currently we have no boundaries but we do ask that everyone stays in the river. We start at daylight and fish for 5 hours. Our entry fee is 15.00. We pay out first, second and third place with a payout for the big bass of the day. If there are over 20 anglers we pay a second big bass. At the end of the year we hold a classic that is a really great time for everyone. It includes food, drinks, and trophies. We hope you give us a try if you are 55 years of age or older.
