It was a really nice morning as the Double Nickel crew gathered to fish the East Pearl River. The low humidity made for a great feeling morning and nobody was complaining about the heat for a change. At blast-off, the 21 boats that fished, shot off in different directions. At the weight-in everyone was talking about how nice it was to not be soaked in sweat by the end of the tournament. In the end it was Guy Steagall who took first place with 7.41 pounds. Ralph Williams finished in second place with 5.55 pounds. Dwain Crumby ended up in third place with 4.75 pound. Guy Steagall and Rob Roberts tied for big bass so the winnings from first place and second place were combined and spilt between them.
The Double Nickel Bass Club (East) is holding its next tournament at the East Pearl River on August 13. For more information, please contact Dwain Crumby at 985-502-6006.
