Record numbers showed up to fish the Bass Assassins tournament today on Bayou Liberty today. It looked like a B.A.S.S. tournament in the morning. Trucks lining up all the way out onto the road to launch. People scurrying about. Groups of people talking. All that was missing was the camera crews. When the signing in was done we ended up with 40 anglers, and 3 Little Tanglers fished today. When day light came I started calling out names. To bad the fish did not want to cooperate. Out of the 43 people who fished only 14 brought fish to the scales. The total fish weighed was 41 bass. It was Jason Pittman who finished 1st. Jason's five fish weighed 12 lbs. 9 oz. In Jason's bag was the big fish of the day as well. A beautiful 6 lbs. Hydrilla Gorilla. Way behind in second place was Jimmy Dorris with a limit weighing 8 lbs. 8 oz. Following close in third was Barry Fallon with a 8 lbs. 2 oz. limit. In fourth was Brock Fallon with a 7 lbs. 2 oz. limit. Rounding out the top five was Bruce Dickens. Bruce had 4 fish for a total of 6 lbs. 12 oz. Sweeping the Little Tanglers was Mehgan Hilllman with her limit weighing 2 lbs. 15 oz.
Other people who brought fish to the scales: Derek Paternostro 2 fish 4 lbs. 6 oz. Beau Lassiter 2 fish 4 lbs. 3 oz. Darren Welch 3 fish 3 lbs. 14 oz. David Wilkenson 2 fish 3 lbs. 14 oz.
