At the third stop of the Dockside Marine Tournament Trail, held at the Manchac launch under I-55, anglers were greeted with clear skies, mild temps, and moderate wind. Before blast off, dock talk was that the fishing had been super tough in the general area and most of the anglers were expecting a grind of a tournament. The results proved the sometimes mis-leading dock talk to be true.
With a showing of 27 boats the payout was through fifth place. Fred King and Roy Laborde brought in an impressive 14.16 lb stringer to claim first place taking home over 3600$. In second was the team of Ross and Reese Watkins with 11.93 lbs who also took home the highest finishing Skeeter Owner money which was an additional 1300$ to their second place winnings. Claiming third place was the team of Barry Fallon and Will Moore with 10.55 lbs as well as the Big Bass award for a 3.31 lb fish. A close fourth was the team of Rodney Teel and Terry Blackmon with 10.35 lbs. And rounding out the top five was the team of Jason Stevens and Terry Jones with 10.26 lbs.
