For the final Prsc event of the year, the 2 day classic was held on October 28th and 29th in some frigid temps dropping into the mid 30's! 11 boats that qualified showed up to give it their best at the guaranteed $1,000 1st place pot and one of those beautiful classic winner plaques. Thanks to Jay Breland for always getting us some of the best looking plaques around! It was a close race from the start on day 1 at Crawford's Landing. The top 3 were separated by meer ounces. Last year's aoy runner up Daniel Schommer found himself on top after day 1 with 9.12.5 followed by 2017 Prsc angler of the year Terry Jones with 9.11.5 and Bobby Dampier holding down 3rd with 9.1
Day 2, the anglers launched out of Pools Bluff in Bogalusa and the fish didn't seem to mind the 35 degree temps that morning. The bigger bass showed up on day 2 making it a nail biter of a day with all the anglers knowing one big bite would separate them from the pack. At the end of the day it was Terry Jones who found himself heading home with $1,000 check alongside his aoy and classic winner plaques! Terrys 14.12.5 limit on day 2 served him up a 2 day total of 24.8 and the classic title! Bobby Dampier moved up a position with 12.4.5 on day 2 giving him a total of 21.5.5 and a 2nd place finish.
Daniel Schommer landed himself in 3rd overall with 11.1.5 the 2nd day totaling up to 20.14 Prsc president Larry Mixon weighed in 12.6 on the final day to land him the 4th place spot with a combined total weight of 20.12 pounds. Larry Mixon also caught the tournament big bass tipping the scales at 4.6.5 pounds and Steve Hadley took home 2nd place big bass honors with a 3.15 largemouth.
Congrats to all of the anglers and we thank them for coming out and also want to thank Larry Mixon for making Prsc the great club that it is! Congrats Terry Jones on the 2017 Aoy and Classic wins! We look forward to seeing everyone next spring! If you have any questions contact Larry Mixon at 985-516-7130
