The October club tournament was held on the West Pearl River this month and all of the anticipation of getting to fish a stable river was thrown out the window when the river started rising the day before the tournament. Most anglers could probably predict that something is going to wreak havoc on a body of water if a tournament is coming up and this was no exception. As the teams scattered north and south at blast off the air temperatures were on the rise as well as the river and it was downright warm by the 3pm weigh in time. The final standings are listed below and the tough conditions were evident as the weigh in progressed.
1st Jason & Trenton Pittman 7.56lbs
2nd Darren welch & Derek Paternostro 4.39lbs
3rd Darrick Neale & Thomas McCrystal 4.14lbs
The Mister Twister Big Bass of the tournament went to Trenton Pittman with a fish weighing in at 2.32lbs and that fish earned them the Big Bass prize money as well as the tackle package provided by Mister Twister.
The Regis Radiator Angler of the Year race is taking shape but it is still anyone’s to win and will come down to the last tournament to be decided. After ten tournaments and the two drop tournaments figured in the standings are as followed:
1st Jason & Trenton Pittman
2nd Darren Welch & Derek Paternostro
3rd Darrick Neale & Thomas McCrystal
