The last Bass Assassins tournament was held on Lock 1.  A touch of fall could be felt in the cool air as all 14 anglers pulled up to the launch.  Days have been getting shorter and the water temps have been falling.  Everyone waits for the sun to come up with great hope of a good day on the water.  As the day went on we were graced with a bright sunny day that turned hot and a mild wind in an eastern direction doing little to help with the heat. Despite the hot day talk at the weigh in was the fish were very active and lots of fish were caught, just not a lot of big fish. Alex Guidry put together a 8.42 lbs. limit with a 2.72 lbs. kicker to claim first and big fish.  Second place went to Eric Ciko for his 7.01 lbs. limit.  Morgan Shutte took home third with his 6.94 lbs. limit.

​  It was a very cool morning with a slight breeze as the Double Nickel (east) Bass Club fished the East Pearl River. Coastal flooding had the water extra high is it combined with the regular high tide. There were 20 anglers that showed up to fish the tournament, and in the end, most of them caught their limit.  Ralph Dunn came in first place with a 3-fish limit of 7.37 pounds. In second place was Jerry Bullock who weighed in a limit of 7.25 pounds. Bullock also caught the big fish of the day: a 3.76-pound bass.  In third place was Chris Stuart with 5.20 pounds. 

The Double Nickel (east) fished the East Pearl River on a nice cool morning with a light incoming tide. The water wasn't too high and it was fairly clean. At the weigh-in, it was CJ Mayeux who beat out the other 14 anglers who fished the event. Mayeux brought in a 3-fish limit weighing 5.58 pounds. Barry Lee came in second place with a limit of 5.43 pounds. Lee also won the big fish pot with a bass that weighed 3.02 Pounds.            
Dwain Crumby came in third with 5.32 pounds.
