This must be the year of the torrential down poors. Once again constant rain all week had us scrambling to try to save the event. The river was high, muddy, and out of its banks. The Fourth St. launch was under water forcing us to move the launch site to Marina Del Ray. The tournament was close to being called off. As the 17 anglers who braved the conditions moved up, and down the river they did it with caution due to the trash in the river. As expected in tough conditions experience pays off. Two Tchefuncte River regulars finished at the top. Shawn Hartman claimed the top spot with four fish totaling 8 lbs. 7 oz. In second was Kyle Hills with another four fish bag weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. Darren Welch took home third with the only limit weighed in at 5 lbs. 12 oz. Big fish honors went to Kyle Hills who brought in a 4 lbs. 12 oz. kicker in his bag.
Other people who weighed in fish: 4th: Ricky Benitez 4 fish 4 lbs. 10 oz. 5th: Derick Paternostro 3 fis 3 lbs. 10 oz. 6th: Todd Stein 3 fish 3 lbs. 9 oz. 7th: Joe Picone 3 fish 3 lbs. 3 oz. 8th: Jimmy Dorris 1 fish 1 lbs. 12 oz. 9th: Chris Basey 1 fish 1 lbs. 11 oz. 10th: Zack Zimmerman 1 fish 1 lbs. 10 oz. |
