There was a lot of puzzled faces at the launch Sunday morning. Those who had prefished the day before found that the water came up drastically over night. Where Saturday there was a gap under the docks to the water now you couldn't make to the dock without getting your feet wet. This sudden change in water level also suddenly changed everyone's game plan. Those who know the Tchefuncte know its a hard river to fish after a big change in weather, or water conditions. However, those who know this river well also know how to adapt. Todd Stein is one of those Tchefuncte vets. He brought in only 3 fish but they were the three right ones. His total weight was 7 lbs. 13 oz. with a 4 lbs. 14 oz. kicker to take home the win and big fish. Blain Williams came in second with a limit weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz. Paul Paille brought in a 5 lbs. 7 oz. limit good enough for third. Bobby Newberry rounded out the top 4 with 2 fish weighing 4 lbs. 2 oz.
