A much welcomed change in weather brought out 19 anglers to test their bass fishing skills on Bayou Lacombe. Lower humidity and cooler air temperature was a relief from the sweltering heat, but high water and incoming tides usually tend to slow the bite on the bayou. Recent rains also muddied the water north of the launch, so most teams spent the majority of their time on the south end or ran elsewhere in search of better conditions. Teams reported catching a lot of 8-11 inch fish, which is good news for the future, let's hope we can avoid any major tropical development across the Southeast and give these fish a chance to grow. Four teams managed to figure out the puzzle and brought limits to the scales for the 3pm weigh in.
1st place - Jason & Trenton Pittman 5 fish - 10.32lbs 2nd place - Ronald Pierre & Wiliam Mattei 5 fish - 5.29lbs 3rd place - Forrest Green & Al Duncan 5 fish - 5.01lbs 4th place - Allen Broadway & Barry Galloway 5 fish - 4.91lbs Big bass honors go to Team Pittman with a 2.93lb fish, congratulations to all the winners. |
