On Sunday, July 12th, the Liars and Lunkers wrapped up their 2015 Bass tournament season at the East Pearl River. The season ending Classic Tournament was open only to anglers that had fished in at least three other Liars and Lunkers tournaments during the year. Participating teams were faced with a rising river, incoming tide and extreme temperatures. Those factors led to a challenging day on the water with not many bass being caught. The father and son team of Phil Schutte and Morgan Schutte overcame the tough conditions and won the event with a 12.01 pound limit of bass. They also had the days biggest bass, weighing 4.33 pounds. Second place went to Mark Mohr and Charles Dauzat with 7.26 pounds. Third place went to Rustin Beaudette and Caleb Beaudette with 7.22 pounds.
The 2015 Liars and Lunkers Team of the Year was also crowned at Sundays event. Mark Mohr and Charles Dauzat took the honor. The team of Mohr and Dauzat showed remarkable consistency throughout the season, finishing in the top two in all six Liars and Lunkers tournaments.
