Dwain Crumby A crowd of 25 boats showed up at the East Pearl River to fish the Double Nickel event on Tuesday. The weather was pleasant but the gnats were a clear reminder that the warmer weather is here. In the end it was Tommy Watkins who figured out the fish and brought in a 3-fish limit of 6.47 pounds. Watkins also caught the big fish of the day: a 6.47-pound lunker. James Harris came in second place with 6.04 pounds. Harris won second place big bass with a 4.04-pound fish. Jerry Bullock came in thrid place with 5.94 pounds.
