The Double Nickel Bass Club held its tournament at the East Pearl River. 23 anglers fished the event on a cold and windy day with the wind blowing at 20 mph. The tide was rising all morning and in the end it was Jerry Bullock who brought in a 3-fish tournament limit weighing 6.44 pounds. Tommy Watkins placed second with a bag of fish that weighed 6.40 pounds. CJ Mayeux took third with a limit that weighed 5.96 pounds. Mayeux won the big bass division as well with a 3.58-pound bass. Mary Dale caught the second biggest fish; a 3.51-pound bass. 

Awards were handed out for the 2022 season and leading the way with the AOY Award was Jerry Bullock. The best stringer of the year was brought in by Bob Perry.

​With the lack of rain lately the rivers around the northshore are clearing up quite well, and the East Pearl is no exception.  When the Bass Assassins showed up at the East Pearl launch they were greeted with a falling tide, mild temperatures, and clear water.  All the makings for a beautiful day. Fourteen anglers showed up to the Hwy. 90 launch to do battle.  The fishing turned out to be better than it's been lately.  Sam Jenkins brought in a limit weighing 8 lbs. 11 oz. to take home the win. 

The Double Nickel bass Club fished the East Pearl River that saw tons of sunshine and no wind. The tide was going out all morning. Out of the 22 anglers who fished the event it was Tommy Watkins who came out on top with a 3-fish bag weighing 6.51 pounds. Joe Frierson won second place with a limit that weighed 5.98 pounds. Ralph Dunn took third with a tournament limit that weighed 5.80 pounds. Bob Perry caught the big fish of the day: a 3.46-pound bass. Mike Lee brought in the second biggest fish: a 3.30-pound bass.
