The Double Nickle Bass Club fished on a Wednesday this week due to the cancelation of the original tournament on Tuesday due to bad weather. It was a windy day as 16 boats showed up to do battle on an East Pearl River that was trying to clear up but still remained stained. In the end it was Bob Perry who figure out the fish and brought in a 3-fish tournament limit weighing 7.84 pounds. Perry also caught the big fish of the day: a 4.16-pound bass. In second place was CJ Pichon with a 3-fish limit of 3.84 pounds. Ron Hindman came in third place with a limit that weighed 3.72 pounds.

The Liars and Lunkers had their second event of the year on Sunday March 24th, 2024 bringing in 17 teams to the East Pearl River. The Pearl was consistent with its usual spring time high levels of over 16 feet at the I-59 gauge on the west side, accompanied by overcast skies that prevailed the majority of the day alongside a very high tide brought in by the strong wind gusts. Many teams struggled to find or catch many fish in the given tough conditions, but on tournament day one team always manages to surprise everyone with what the Pearl is capable of. On this day, that was the team of Tyler Allgood and Steele Sessions bringing in an astonishing 19.66 pound stringer for 1st place, also anchoring their massive limit was big bass of the tournament weighing in at 7.23 pounds! Congrats to these gentlemen on a great finish!

2nd place went to the team of Rustin Beaudette and Trevor Truax with 7.91 pounds. Rounding out the top finishers was the team of Steve Hadley and Dwayne Crumby in 3rd place with 6.74 pounds. A rather large gap in between some of the weights, but nonetheless congratulations are in order to all the top 3 teams.
