The Double Nickel Bass Club fished on an overcast morning with a light breeze that continued until later in the day. There were 23 boats that showed up to compete for bragging rights and a cash pot. The water appeared muddy from a distance but was more of a stain once anglers started fishing. The river was still high, and the tide started coming in later in the morning. Some anglers went south while others headed north. Everyone was a little concerned about the rain, but they made it through without issues. In the end, it was Bob Perry who came in first place with a total weight of 7.73 pounds. Perry also won the big bass pot with a 3.74-pound fish. Bill Dorris claimed second place with 7.48 pounds and second place big bass with a 3.57-pound fish. Tommy Watkins took third place with 7.06 pounds.

The weather was nice on Tuesday morning, but later, it turned hot. The rising river and an incoming tide made it a grind to catch fish. A few of the 21 boats that showed up did find a few fish. In the end it was Butch Thurmond who came in with the heaviest bag with three fish weighing 5.45 pounds. CJ Pichon claimed second place with 5.05 pounds and 2nd place big bass at 2.43 pounds. Jerry Bullock took third place with 4.67 pounds. Rob Watson claimed big bass honors with a 2.84-pound bass.

Crawfords Landing was the site of the last Bass Assassins tournament.  We had to cancel this tournament two weeks prior to this due to a large storm front that was passing through the area.  That front dumped a lot of rain from here to Jackson which caused the river to climb to flood stages and back down to 13.5 feet in those two weeks.  When we showed up at the launch the river was falling 1 foot a day pulling lots of water out of the swamps and the fish were on the move.  This day was going to prove to be tough.  Out of the 15 anglers that showed up to fish only 7 were able to bring fish to the scale.  Topping the field we find a Pearl River legend Steve Hadley who brought in a 7.39 lbs. limit.  Steve's bag also contained the big fish of the day which was a 2.03 pounder.

In second we find John Cahill with a 6.43 lbs. limit.  Rob Roberts took home third with a limit weighing 6.23 lbs.
